Product Manager

Work directly with our Cofounder and Chief Commercial Officer to solve really diverse and interesting product development problems while working towards a future where we feed billions of people food that's both irresistable and sustainable.

About us

Vow is a food company -- a very different one. We’re creating real meat products from animal cells, instead of the animal itself. We’re bringing together cutting-edge innovations in science, engineering, culinary, and design to make sustainable food that’s both irresistible and available to billions of people worldwide.

The work that we are doing is a critical step on the path to creating a future where humans can exist in sustainable harmony with our planet. A world we can proudly hand over to our children and grandchildren. We are achieving this by creating sustainable food that is the most delicious, desirable choice of anything available. This is a mission we believe in deeply.

Vow have a fast-growing team located in Sydney of over 30 hard-working people who genuinely look out for each other and is fully funded by two of Australia's most successful venture capital firms

You are obsessed with iteration and constantly learning on the fly, and you’re excited to apply that to the whole sensory experience associated with developing unique food products.

You have
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Product Manager either in a startup or fast-paced product development environment.

  • Work with our Food Invention team to constantly improve our first product through build/test/learn iteration cycles
  • Establish, grow and own the processes and ceremonies associated with agile product development
  • Marry both qualitative and quantitative testing methods to drive the roadmap, with a desire to explore unconventional solutions and approaches
  • Iteratively develop core positioning, messaging and go-to-market and pricing strategies for our products
  • Provide input into Product function budget

What success looks like

In the first month, you will work side by side with the Chief Commercial Officer. Shadowing his activities, learning about the complexities of the business and becoming an expert on the company’s vision and the journey that led to this point. You will immediately be immersed in hands-on product development, consumer testing and attend/contribute to our Agile ceremonies.

In the next few months, you will start to take more autonomous ownership of the incremental product development process, reporting on progress against the roadmap and OKRs, identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring the smooth delivery of agile ceremonies. You will be working on everything from legal and regulatory requirements, consumer testing, shipping logistics, product experience design and more, integrating deeply with the science and manufacturing teams to ensure we’re all on the same page.

By the end of your first few months, you will be working with our food team and cell production team to deliver a consistent supply of tastable prototypes of our first consumer-facing product, seeing constant improvements in weekly tastings enjoyed by consumers, chefs and key Vow stakeholders.

Beyond this, throughout 2022 your focus will be on how we can deliver this experience to our first markets and eventually satisfy millions (and then billions) of consumers and in doing so build an entirely new industry that will be talked about and enjoyed by many generations to come.
